Fat Cat Beats presents WEST ORANGE, a 20-minute instrumental journey by PHYS EDISON. For fans of MF DOOM, Madlib, dusty samples, late-night headphones and underground hip hop.

“West Orange is the name of my recording studio, and for this project I wanted to create the feeling of a scientific laboratory where beats are made. I think a lot of us beat makers feel like mad scientists sometimes — conducting experiments with all the sounds available to us and seeing what reactions happen.

My own lab is currently powered by a Fender Rhodes piano, a Novation Bass Station II, and two Technics 1200s, all surrounded by more vinyl than any normal person could ever need.” - Phys Edison
